Advertise on Vevo

Music videos as television channels. What it costs, who sees the ad and how to run it yourself, without an agency.

New advertisers get a 100 euro discount on their first campaign payment.

You can advertise on Vevo, the music video network that programmes Connected TV channels, without a direct deal with the platform: Vevo is among the Connected TV platforms on the Publicit infrastructure, every space publishes its price and you see it before requesting it. Vevo streams channels by music genre, such as Vevo Pop and Vevo Latino in Spain, inside platforms like Rakuten TV and in TV apps, with ad breaks between music videos, so your spot reaches a young audience that barely watches linear TV. On top of the media price you pay a 10% fee plus VAT, the minimum per campaign is 500 total and 50 per day, and you are only charged when the owner of the space approves the request.

What Vevo is and who sees the ads

Vevo is the music video network created by the major record labels and owner of the world's largest catalogue of official music videos. For years it was mostly the watermark on music videos on YouTube; over the last decade it has pivoted to Connected TV, programming FAST channels by genre and era that are watched in TV apps and on free platforms.

In Spain, Rakuten TV streams Vevo channels such as Vevo Pop, with the latest national and international pop, and Vevo Latino, with hits from Spain and Latin America. The person who sees your ad is a viewer who put on a music channel as background or as company television, mostly young and with little linear TV consumption, and who sees the ad between one music video and the next.

How advertising on Vevo works

Ads run in commercial breaks between music videos inside each channel's schedule, with a load similar to that of a traditional music TV channel. Vevo sells its Connected TV advertising through commercial partners by region, and its channels are distributed on third-party platforms and in the menus of the TVs themselves.

On Publicit, the publishers representing Vevo inventory list their spaces with price, estimated impressions, channel and restrictions, and you request them from the dashboard with no deal with Vevo. The listing tells you the channel and genre, the channel type and whether the ad runs live or on demand.

Which advertisers Vevo makes sense for

Vevo fits reaching a young audience on the living-room screen in a music and leisure context: fashion, drinks, technology, entertainment, festivals and events, and brands that want their spot alongside music videos rather than series or news. The channel's genre lets you refine the context, and with Publicit's city or region targeting you can advertise an event or a venue only in its area.

Vevo is the only platform in the set dedicated to music, and unlike the others it has no dominant app of its own: its channels stream inside other platforms, such as Rakuten TV, and in TV menus. Compared with Twitch, which also reaches a young audience, here the ad runs between music videos, in a background-music context, rather than inside a live stream with a chat.

What it costs to advertise on Vevo

There is no public Vevo rate card: on Publicit the owner of each space sets its price and you see it on the listing before you request it. On music channels, inventory is priced by CPM, per thousand impressions inside the breaks between music videos, with a cost per thousand similar to other FAST channels, and the listing publishes its estimated impressions.

Media cost = (CPM × impressions delivered) ÷ 1,000

On top of that media cost comes the Publicit fee, which is 10% of the media budget, plus VAT on both amounts at the rate that applies where your company is based. The owner of the space receives their full price: the 10% is charged to you, separately.

A campaign needs a total budget of at least 500 and a daily budget of at least 50, in the campaign currency. A specific space can also require a minimum number of campaign days, set by its owner and shown on the listing. You pay when the owner approves your request, not before, and the amount is held in escrow until delivery is evidenced. The full model is on the pricing page and in how much it costs to advertise on TV.

How to run your ad on Vevo, step by step

  • Create an account with your work email. Signing up and browsing the infrastructure is free, and requesting a space costs nothing.
  • Search the Vevo spaces. Filter by platform, by the channel's music genre, by city or region and by price. Each listing shows the price, the buying model, the estimated impressions and the channel where it runs.
  • Set budget, dates and targeting. Campaign objective, total and daily caps, frequency of 1 to 10 days, and targeting by location, age, gender and interests.
  • Upload the spot and request the space. The owner approves or declines it, usually within 48 hours. If declined, the request comes back to you for revision.
  • Pay on approval and go live. The charge only happens with the approval. Then you follow impressions from the dashboard or from an AI assistant through the MCP server.

What a television space listing publishes

Every television space on the infrastructure publishes what an advertiser needs to decide without calling anyone. On a music-channel service like Vevo, the listing shows the channel and its genre, the channel type, the content category, the price and its model, the estimated impressions, whether the ad runs live or on demand, the minimum campaign days if any and the owner's restrictions. These are the fields the publisher fills in, not Publicit estimates.

The spot you need for Vevo

On Vevo the ad runs in the breaks between music videos on a music channel, in a background and leisure context, so a spot with a good soundtrack fits naturally. Publicit validates it against the IAB Spain video formats: MP4, WebM or MOV, as pre-roll or mid-roll, with the exact dimensions and file sizes on the creative specs page. The space owner also approves the creative. Publicit sells and manages media; it does not produce the spot.

Other platforms you can advertise on

The same campaign and the same budget can be split across several television platforms, and across digital screens, billboards, metro, press and radio too. Every television platform available is listed under TV platforms you can advertise on.

  • Netflix: subscription streaming with ads since 2022; not yet available on Publicit.
  • Prime Video: Amazon's streaming service, with limited ads in Spain since April 2024.
  • Disney+: Disney's streaming service, with a Standard with ads plan in Spain since November 2023.
  • HBO Max: Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming service, with a Basic with ads plan in Spain since April 2025.
  • Sky: Comcast's pay TV in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria.
