What it costs to get your ad on Prime Video, who sees it now that the platform runs ads, and how to run it without an agency.
New advertisers get a 100 euro discount on their first campaign payment.
You can get your ad on Prime Video without negotiating with Amazon: Prime Video is among the Connected TV platforms on the Publicit infrastructure, every space publishes its price and you see it before requesting it. Prime Video has run limited ads in Spain since 9 April 2024 for every Prime member who does not pay the ad-free add-on, so your spot reaches the general Prime base, not just a cheap plan. On top of the media price you pay a 10% fee plus VAT, the minimum per campaign is 500 total and 50 per day, and you are only charged when the owner of the space approves the request.
Prime Video is Amazon's streaming service, included with the Prime subscription alongside deliveries, and it streams original and third-party series and films, plus live sport in some markets. It is one of the platforms in the most Spanish households precisely because it comes with Prime, without the viewer having to subscribe separately.
On 9 April 2024 Amazon started including limited advertising in Prime Video series and films in Spain. Unlike Netflix or Disney+, ads here are not a separate plan: every Prime member sees them unless they pay a monthly add-on to watch ad-free. That makes Prime Video's advertising audience the service's general base, and in June 2025 Amazon announced it would increase the ad load compared with the launch.
Prime Video ads are videos that run before the content and in breaks during playback, with Amazon's promise of fewer ads than linear television. Amazon sells that inventory directly through Amazon Ads, with formats that include interactive ads tied to its store, and with deals and minimums designed for large advertisers.
Publicit is the self-service route: the publishers representing Prime Video inventory list their spaces with price, estimated impressions and restrictions, and you request them from the dashboard with no Amazon Ads account and no negotiation. The listing tells you whether the ad runs in-stream on demand or live, and with what minimum number of days.
Prime Video fits when you want reach in mainstream households: since the ads are seen by the whole Prime base that does not pay the add-on, you are not limited to the audience of a cheap plan. It works for consumer brands, local businesses that want a presence on the living-room screen, and awareness campaigns targeted by city or region. And if you sell on Amazon, your brand appears in the same ecosystem where the viewer shops, although buying the space on Publicit does not include the store's interactive formats.
What sets Prime Video apart from Netflix, Disney+ or HBO Max is that advertising is not a separate plan: the whole Prime base that does not pay the add-on sees it, so the advertising audience is the broadest among streaming platforms, and it comes bundled with Amazon's delivery subscription rather than being a video service the viewer signed up for. The interactive formats tied to Amazon's store exist only in Amazon Ads' direct sales; on Publicit you buy the video space.
There is no Prime Video rate card: on Publicit the owner of each space sets its price and you see it on the listing before you request it. In ad-supported subscription streaming, inventory is priced by CPM, per thousand impressions delivered within the ad plan, and the listing publishes its estimated impressions.
Media cost = (CPM × impressions delivered) ÷ 1,000
On top of that media cost comes the Publicit fee, which is 10% of the media budget, plus VAT on both amounts at the rate that applies where your company is based. The owner of the space receives their full price: the 10% is charged to you, separately.
A campaign needs a total budget of at least 500 and a daily budget of at least 50, in the campaign currency. A specific space can also require a minimum number of campaign days, set by its owner and shown on the listing. You pay when the owner approves your request, not before, and the amount is held in escrow until delivery is evidenced. The full model is on the pricing page and in how much it costs to advertise on TV.
Every television space on the infrastructure publishes what an advertiser needs to decide without calling anyone. On a streaming platform like Prime Video, what matters most is the price and its model, the estimated impressions, whether the ad runs in-stream on demand or live, the content category it runs next to and the owner's restrictions, plus the platform or programme, share, rating and average viewers when the publisher provides them. These are the fields the publisher fills in when listing the space, not Publicit estimates.
On Prime Video the ad is a video that runs before the series or film and in breaks during playback, and it cannot be skipped, so you need a finished spot made to be watched on the living-room screen. Publicit validates it against the IAB Spain video formats: MP4, WebM or MOV, as pre-roll or mid-roll, with the exact dimensions and file sizes on the creative specs page. The space owner also approves the creative. Publicit sells and manages media; it does not produce the spot.
The same campaign and the same budget can be split across several television platforms, and across digital screens, billboards, metro, press and radio too. Every television platform available is listed under TV platforms you can advertise on.
Sign up for free on Publicit with your work email, search television spaces filtering by Prime Video and by your city or region, and open a listing: you will see its price, its buying model and its estimated impressions. Add the spaces to a campaign, set budget and dates, upload your spot and request them. You only pay when the owner approves the request.
There is no public rate card. On Publicit the owner of each space sets its price and you see it on the listing before requesting it, usually as a CPM, per thousand impressions. On top of that media price there is a 10% fee plus VAT, and the minimum per campaign is 500 total and 50 per day.
Every Prime member in Spain who does not pay the ad-free add-on, because since 9 April 2024 limited advertising is included by default. It is a broad, mainstream audience watching on the living-room screen, and with Publicit you can limit it to households in your area.
No. On Publicit you request the spaces listed by the publishers representing that inventory, with no Amazon Ads account and no direct deal with Amazon. The space owner approves or declines your request and you pay Publicit once it is approved.
Yes. Targeting works at city or region level and spaces are bought one by one, so you can appear on Prime Video only to households in your area on a local budget, from 500 total per campaign.
