What it costs, who sees the ad on the Standard with ads plan, and how to run your spot yourself, without an agency.
New advertisers get a 100 euro discount on their first campaign payment.
You can advertise on Disney+ without a direct deal with Disney: Disney+ is among the Connected TV platforms on the Publicit infrastructure, every space publishes its price and you see it before requesting it. Your ad runs on the Standard with ads plan, available in Spain since 1 November 2023, before and during content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star. On top of the media price you pay a 10% fee plus VAT, the minimum per campaign is 500 total and 50 per day, and you are only charged when the owner of the space approves the request.
Disney+ is The Walt Disney Company's streaming service and brings together the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic catalogues, plus the Star brand with series and films for adults. It is a platform with a strong presence in households with children, but since Star arrived its audience is also adult and mainstream.
On 1 November 2023 Disney+ launched its Standard with ads plan in Spain, the cheapest of its three plans, with two simultaneous streams and Full HD quality. The person who sees your ad is the subscriber who chose that plan in exchange for paying less: an audience that watches on the living-room screen, often as a family, and that cannot skip the advertising.
Disney+ ads are videos that run before the content starts and in breaks during playback. Disney also applies its own rules about which ads it accepts, especially around children's content, so the advertiser's category and the content you want to appear next to matter more than on other platforms.
In direct sales, Disney sells its inventory to advertisers and agencies through deals and minimums it does not publish. On Publicit, the publishers representing that inventory list their spaces with price, estimated impressions, content category and restrictions, and you request them from the dashboard. The space owner approves each campaign and each creative, and their restrictions appear on the listing before you request it.
Disney+ fits brands that want a family entertainment environment and highly recognisable franchises: toys, food, travel, leisure, education and home services, and in general brands that want their ad to sit alongside new releases and well-known franchises. Because the space owner publishes their content restrictions, you know before requesting whether your category fits. And with Publicit's city or region targeting, a local business can appear in front of families in its area.
Compared with Netflix and Prime Video, Disney+ has the most clearly defined household profile: families with children and fans of very specific franchises, with the strictest ad acceptance rules of the group, especially next to children's content. Compared with HBO Max, its ad plan has been in Spain since November 2023, a year and a half longer, and with Star it also covers the adult audience.
There is no Disney+ rate card: on Publicit the owner of each space sets its price and you see it on the listing before you request it. In ad-supported subscription streaming, inventory is priced by CPM, per thousand impressions delivered within the ad plan, and the listing publishes its estimated impressions.
Media cost = (CPM × impressions delivered) ÷ 1,000
On top of that media cost comes the Publicit fee, which is 10% of the media budget, plus VAT on both amounts at the rate that applies where your company is based. The owner of the space receives their full price: the 10% is charged to you, separately.
A campaign needs a total budget of at least 500 and a daily budget of at least 50, in the campaign currency. A specific space can also require a minimum number of campaign days, set by its owner and shown on the listing. You pay when the owner approves your request, not before, and the amount is held in escrow until delivery is evidenced. The full model is on the pricing page and in how much it costs to advertise on TV.
Every television space on the infrastructure publishes what an advertiser needs to decide without calling anyone. On a streaming platform like Disney+, what matters most is the price and its model, the estimated impressions, whether the ad runs in-stream on demand or live, the content category it runs next to and the owner's restrictions, plus the platform or programme, share, rating and average viewers when the publisher provides them. These are the fields the publisher fills in when listing the space, not Publicit estimates.
On Disney+ the ad is a video that runs before the series or film and in breaks during playback, and it cannot be skipped, so you need a finished spot made to be watched on the living-room screen. Publicit validates it against the IAB Spain video formats: MP4, WebM or MOV, as pre-roll or mid-roll, with the exact dimensions and file sizes on the creative specs page. The space owner also approves the creative. Publicit sells and manages media; it does not produce the spot.
The same campaign and the same budget can be split across several television platforms, and across digital screens, billboards, metro, press and radio too. Every television platform available is listed under TV platforms you can advertise on.
There is no public Disney+ rate card. On Publicit the owner of each space sets its price and you see it on the listing before requesting it, usually as a CPM, per thousand impressions. On top of that media price there is a 10% fee plus VAT, and the minimum per campaign is 500 total and 50 per day. Signing up and checking prices is free.
Subscribers on the Standard with ads plan, which Disney+ launched in Spain on 1 November 2023. They see the ad before and during the content and cannot skip it. It is an audience with a strong share of households with children, although with Star the platform also has an adult public.
The owner of each space publishes their content restrictions on the listing, and on Disney+ they tend to be stricter than on other platforms, especially next to children's content. If your category fits, you request the space and the owner approves the campaign and the creative, usually within 48 hours.
Yes. The Publicit minimum is a budget of 500 total and 50 per day per campaign, you buy per space and targeting works by city or region, so you can appear on Disney+ only to households in your area. A space can also require a minimum number of campaign days, shown on the listing.
No. On Publicit you request the spaces listed by the publishers representing that inventory, with no direct deal with Disney. The space owner approves or declines your request and you pay Publicit once it is approved.
