The TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio platform. What it costs, who sees the ad and how to run it yourself, without an agency.
New advertisers get a 100 euro discount on their first campaign payment.
You can advertise on 3Cat, the TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio platform, without negotiating with the CCMA: 3Cat is among the Connected TV platforms on the Publicit infrastructure, every space publishes its price and you see it before requesting it. 3Cat launched on 30 October 2023, is free with ads and streams in Catalan, live and on demand, so your spot reaches the TV3 audience watching television from a connected screen. On top of the media price you pay a 10% fee plus VAT, the minimum per campaign is 500 total and 50 per day, and you are only charged when the owner of the space approves the request.
3Cat is the single brand and digital platform of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals, Catalonia's public broadcaster. It was born in 2023 when TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio were unified under one name, and the platform launched on 30 October 2023 with more than 280,000 hours of content in Catalan: the live channels, series, shows, news, sport, children's content and podcasts, all free with ads.
Unlike RTVE, the Catalan public broadcaster does carry advertising, so 3Cat is a commercial platform for advertisers. The person who sees your ad is the audience of TV3 and the rest of the CCMA's channels watching over the internet, on a phone, a computer or a connected TV, mostly in Catalonia and in Catalan.
Ads are videos that run before each piece of content and in the breaks during playback, on the live channels and on demand. The CCMA sells its advertising through its own commercial department, with rates and deals for linear television and for the platform.
On Publicit, the publishers representing 3Cat inventory list their spaces with price, estimated impressions, channel or programme and restrictions, and you request them from the dashboard with no deal with the CCMA. The listing tells you whether the ad runs in-stream live or on demand, and programme audience data when the publisher provides them. The spot can be in Catalan or Spanish depending on what the space owner accepts, which they state in their restrictions.
3Cat fits anyone who wants to reach the Catalan public with a message in their language and in a local public television environment: shops and services in Catalonia, brands with Catalan distribution, institutions and local events, and national advertisers who want a Catalan-language piece inside their campaign. With Publicit's city or region targeting you can limit the campaign to a county or to Barcelona, and combine it in the same budget with digital screens, metro or billboards in the same area.
3Cat is the only platform in the set that streams in Catalan and the only public television one that accepts advertising, so it does not compete with Atresplayer or Mediaset Infinity for the same public but reaches one the others do not cover in its language. Its audience is concentrated in Catalonia, which makes it the natural option for local campaigns in that territory.
There is no public 3Cat rate card for its platform: on Publicit the owner of each space sets its price and you see it on the listing before you request it. On broadcaster platforms, inventory is priced by CPM, per thousand impressions, both on the live channels and on demand, and the listing publishes its estimated impressions.
Media cost = (CPM × impressions delivered) ÷ 1,000
On top of that media cost comes the Publicit fee, which is 10% of the media budget, plus VAT on both amounts at the rate that applies where your company is based. The owner of the space receives their full price: the 10% is charged to you, separately.
A campaign needs a total budget of at least 500 and a daily budget of at least 50, in the campaign currency. A specific space can also require a minimum number of campaign days, set by its owner and shown on the listing. You pay when the owner approves your request, not before, and the amount is held in escrow until delivery is evidenced. The full model is on the pricing page and in how much it costs to advertise on TV.
Every television space on the infrastructure publishes what an advertiser needs to decide without calling anyone. On a broadcaster platform like 3Cat, the listing shows the channel and programme, that programme's share, rating and average viewers when the publisher provides them, whether the ad runs in-stream live or on demand, the content category, the price and its model, the estimated impressions, the minimum campaign days if any and the owner's restrictions. These are the fields the publisher fills in, not Publicit estimates.
On 3Cat the ad is a video that runs before the content and in the breaks during the live channels or on-demand playback, so the same spot you would run on the broadcaster works. Publicit validates it against the IAB Spain video formats: MP4, WebM or MOV, as pre-roll or mid-roll, with the exact dimensions and file sizes on the creative specs page. The space owner also approves the creative. Publicit sells and manages media; it does not produce the spot.
The same campaign and the same budget can be split across several television platforms, and across digital screens, billboards, metro, press and radio too. Every television platform available is listed under TV platforms you can advertise on.
There is no single public rate card for the platform. On Publicit the owner of each space sets its price and you see it on the listing before requesting it, usually as a CPM, per thousand impressions. On top of that media price there is a 10% fee plus VAT, and the minimum per campaign is 500 total and 50 per day.
Whoever watches TV3 and the rest of the CCMA's channels and content over the internet, live or on demand, on the free ad-supported platform launched on 30 October 2023. It is a mostly Catalan audience that watches in Catalan.
It depends on the space owner's restrictions, which appear on the listing before you request it. A spot in Catalan fits the platform and its audience naturally; if your creative is in Spanish, check on the listing whether the space accepts it.
You can advertise on the online stream of TV3 and the rest of the CCMA's channels, live and on demand, when the publisher lists that space. Linear over-the-air television is bought separately, through the CCMA's commercial department.
Yes. The Publicit minimum is a budget of 500 total and 50 per day per campaign, you buy per space and targeting works by city or region, so you can appear only to households in your county or city.
A finished video spot in MP4, WebM or MOV, as pre-roll or mid-roll, with the dimensions and file sizes on the creative specs page. The space owner also approves the creative before it runs.
